First Penance and First Holy Communion

Children may begin the process of preparation with first grade, however they are welcome to join this process at anytime following the start of first grade in school. The preparation process must be two consecutive years to comply with Archdiocese of Los Angeles Guidelines. Whatever age they start, their "year one" will be an introductory year where regular attendance at weekend Mass will be a critical adjunct to an appropriate course of study through Families in Faith. AMS students are prepared during their school day, and SRE students during an afternoon session once a week.
If your child has not been baptized, this will be offered during their first year of religious formation, and is required for reception of the sacraments of penance and eucharist.
