Welcome to SRE!

Whether you have been with us for many years, or this is your first year, we hope you will feel welcome in our church community at large and the smaller community of SRE within the parish. Please know we are here to serve you in any way we can.

Mission Statement

We are a community of believers hoping to bring about the kingdom of God through lives growing more fully in God's love.
We seek to allow the children a chance to grow in personal faith. We do this by giving them an affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church.
We hope to share our religious traditions so that our children will know where we have been.
Our prayer is that they will know by our lives that a loving God awaits them.

Love God
Love Others
Grow Disciples

Philosophy

The American Martyrs SRE program recognizes the importance of the students' parents and families as the primary educators in the children's religious education and formation. Our program is designed to assist the parents by offering weekly instruction to children in grades first through eighth by catechists who teach and witness the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. In our program our children are educated in the Catholic tradition, Scripture, and Church teachings in areas such as respect life and social justice.
Our program attempts to balance the religious instruction (message) with the experience of the Catholic community, service, and worship throughout the year. Our program attempts to meet the needs and understanding of all children and families, recognizing that there are varying degrees of catechetical background, understanding, and experiences. We strive to inform our children and families in the basics of the Catholic faith; assist the parents in forming the children's ongoing spiritual development; and finally to be an instrument in transforming these children into Catholic Christian citizens with a strong faith in which they live.  All that is accomplished is done by the Holy Spirit.
